The fundamentals of etching, including aquatint, dry point, sugar lift and chine-colle.

Working from your own ideas, you will experiment with image, tone and mark-making to experience some of  the visual possibilities of etching.

Each method is introduced by considering its particular technical possibilities and the health and safety considerations. This course is an excellent choice for absolute beginners or those who need a refresher in the area of intaglio printmaking.

Students will gain an understanding of techniques introduced and develop practical skills in order to create and print their own plates

Wednesdays 10am -1pm with Margaret Manchee, Three or Four week course depending on enrolments.

If there are only 2 people enrolled, the duration of the course is three weeks as the tuition is more intense and more can be covered in the time. It also covers our costs.

It there are 3 or more people enrolled, the course is a four week course to give everyone time to cover the material.

The cost for both courses is $295.
