Classes

Classes

The Firestation regularly runs workshops and courses in printmaking.  This is the place to learn basic skills or update your knowledge. We have three types of courses:

  • our regular classes in Etching and Advanced Etching. These are four week courses of 3 hours per week, either during the day or in the evening.

  • our intensive courses which are designed to fast track you into your printmaking practice. Our teachers work with you on a one-to-one basis so that you can learn the technicalities as quickly as possible. You, together with the teacher, decide on a classtime. Easy, cost effective and convenient.

  • our special courses. These are with specialised teachers who are generous enough to teach others in specialised areas. David Frazer, for instance, from time to time will give a workshop in woodcuts; Sarah Amos will demonstrate her arts in her master workshops. Other master printmakers who make special appearances include Jennifer Marshall, Deb Williams, Rhett Kilner, Joss Farmar-Bowers, Allen Dabcheck, Damon Kowarsky, Julie Lancaster.
