From the very beginning, the Firestation Print Studio has been a centre for community arts education inMelbourne. Priding itself on the quality of its varied, art education program, the Firestation has both inspired and supported printmakers of various skill levels, interests and ages for almost twenty years.
Each short course and workshop is facilitated by a professional, practicing artist and the current program caters for the absolute novice to the established, professional, fine art printmaker. Class sizes are kept small, 6-8 students. This ensures that every participant receives the most individual attention and time with their artist-teacher.
Current workshops and courses draw on the various print processes which the Print Studio is equipped for; these are: Intaglio, Relief (lino & woodcut), Monoprinting and Letterpress, as well at the paper-focused bookbinding and artist-bookmaking techniques. Life drawing sessions are also a regular feature at the Print Studio.
Additional classes are regularly added to the program, so keep an eye here and the News Page for updates.
Please note a minimum of 4 students is required to hold each class. Fees include all materials.
